S6 COACHING
The S6 Swim Squad is the top squad for children within S4 Swim School. Joining the S6 Swim Squad is by invite only after an assessment by one of the swim coaches.
The swim squad operates from many pools around the Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham and Tamworth areas.
Children learn advanced swimming techniques and gain many skills required for competition swimming and gain general strength/skills in the water enabling children to also experience other water sports.
We only introduce coaching based disciplines once a child is competent in their technique and skills. At S4 we are of the opinion that practice makes permanent. So if a child is swimming a number of lengths with incorrect technique they will develop bad habits that will become harder to correct.
The same goes for speed swimming with swim training. It is important to perform the correct technique at speed or in a competitive environment.
Many of our squad swimmers perform at the large schools galas such as the 'Sutton Schools' gala, normally achieving top 3 finishes in their particular event.
